Future Brewery Events
So a few of you know of my recent promotion at work to event coordinator for the brewery. I am trying to create another band night, this time though it will be with multiple bands on one night, rather than one band per night. The date for it will actually be determined tomorrow when I sit down with my boss, but I already have a band definitely confirmed to play for me.

You may have heard of them, they're called Shutter, they're a sort of pop punk band, if you haven't here's a little sample of their work.

I would appreciate opinions, and also suggestions, if you know any local bands that you think would be great or that you would like to see, then I am very open.

Apart from this, there is something else I am curious about. If there is anyone who would like to make a few bucks, I would be interested in some one or two to come out in costume. Not necessarily for band events, but for other things. I'm tossing around ideas, one being a car/motorcycle show...and while fursuiters may not fit that theme in it's self, it would be fun if people bring kids along. And then for other events as well, the brewery is actually quite furry friendly, considering I'm well open about being one and they pretty much get a kick out of the idea, so feel safe come as such.

Finally, I've already run it by my manager and she is totally cool with a furry thing here. However I find myself at a dead end because apart from drinking...then the brewery alone wouldn't have much to offer. However, if there is something you would like to suggest then I am more than willing to throw it at Lauren and see what she thinks. Really as long as fights aren't breaking out or people aren't getting high, neither of us give a rat's dick what happens.

So tired....

RE: Future Brewery Events
So I'm thinking of bring Awake at Last to the brewery to play with Shutter. Here's a link to one of their songs. Some feedback on this would be appreciated. Also if you have any bands you like that you would like to suggest please list them for me.

RE: Future Brewery Events
lol Not at all. In fact we just had a little release party for our Harvest Spiced Ale, which is a Pumpkin beer. I almost want to say we already have an involvement with Pumpkin Chunkin? I'll have to ask about that.

Also, seeing how this next band night goes, I may just contact them. Not only for what I'm doing, but my manager wants me to organize a battle of the bands thing. Idea being the winner would be the opening band for next years R2Hop2 (or whatever they're gonna call it). Which wold be a great opportunity for a local band, considering last year we had a little over a 1000 people come, and this year we're expecting even more.

RE: Future Brewery Events
Yes we are fursuit friendly. Hell I dress in Lost's Socrates fursuit for one of our Sin Nights and people had a blast. My manager Lauren and our marketer want to come out to one of the furbowls to see what this is all about so that'll be fun to bring them some night. To be fair we were at a release party and had quite a few pints of beer when the subject got brought up so who knows if they'll actually come or if it was just drunk talk XD.

Sadly though, we do not really do food. I mean if I knew there were a group of furs coming I could fire up the grill and in that case it'd be cool. But in general we can't actually sell food yet. That is one of the reasons why were trying to boost up events and things to bring people...and as such...money in. We would like to eventually be a brew pub, but that would require a lot of renovation, and not to mention a new staff, and license and all that good stuff. The plan is there though, we just need the funds.

RE: Future Brewery Events
I'm a little sad to say that Awake at Last will not be making it on the 21st. Just something came up and I got the word today. So I'm talking with a few people now to see about getting some one to will in the slot for them.

Currently what is going on for band nights is:

Sept 21
6-7 pm - ??? (I will change once I find some one)
7-8pm - Shutter
Location: Fordham/Old Dominion brewery, 1284 McD Drive
Cost: $5 cover, $1 beers
Donations to: USO
