Synge's *FREE* sailing get-together thread 2010
Hi furs,
So as most of you know, I held a cruise on largish sailboat last weekend and Muse, Spriit, and Tsuneko all came with me and had a great time. However, I know that not all of you can afford to drop $30 for some fun for the day, so this thread is about the regular mini get-togethers I'll be hosting all summer as I go sailing. I have a little bitty sailboat of my own, and as my dues are all paid up with my local club, I have unlimited use of their boats and can take you all with me on those too for free. ^^ I will be doing this most weekends until late October and go out the occasional weeknight as well, so if any of you want to come with me, just let me know and you can come! Here's a list of the boats you all can sail for free with me on: My boat: O'day Widgeon 12' - "Nessie". Cute as a button! Seats 2 (3 in a pinch): ![]() Thistle 17' (High-performance racer!) Seats 4. ![]() Flying Scot 19' (My personal favorite!) - Seats 5. ![]() Hunter 216 21' (Big and comfy but kinda slow) - Seats 6. ![]() So, who wants to go sailing for free? Speak up! ^.^ |

I do for sure! Where's your sailing club located, again? I forget. XP And I'm always up for Lum's Pond sailing, of course. As long as I'm not busy. =]

Let's get together Sunday afternoon (August 1st) and go sailing! Who's up for it and does anyone have a preference for exactly when to go?

RE: Synge's *FREE* sailing get-together thread 2010
Being as nobody has expressed an interest in a specific time this coming Sunday, let's say 2pm this coming Sunday 8/1. We'll meet at the New Castle Sailing Club just south of Battery Park in Old New Castle.
Spazzy: Sorry you can't make this meet. As for Monday the 9th... well it's a Monday so I'm working you know? I hope we can figure out a time that works for you though. Solberg: I typically sail up until the end of October, and possibly the first week or two of November, depending on how the weather is. So you may want to check in then. And next year is definitely doable too. I have room for 4, maybe 5 people to come with me this coming Sunday, so speak up if you want a spot! |

So far I've got two tentatives for this coming Sunday 8/1 at 2pm. - You and LostPawz. And there's room for more! NOTE: Right at the moment it looks like there may be some adverse weather on Sunday, but Saturday looks good. However, weather forecasts 4 days out are not terribly reliable, so we'll see. If Sunday's forecast still looks bad tomorrow afternoon, I will bump up the meet 2pm Saturday instead, as so far, Saturday looks clear. |

Do you have any kind of rope/flotation device to keep me from drowning? Still never got around to those swimming lessons. XP

XP I have a life jacket for you to wear, don't you worry. => And I can also make a Slappy handle if you so desire, though I think it's not really necessary for this type of boat. |

Sunday weather isn't looking good, so let's plan on 2pm Saturday July 31 (tomorrow). I'll be back around 6:15 to Furbowl can also be done.
We're meeting at the New Castle Sailing Club in historic New Castle. Here are the directions: http://www.newcastlesailingclub.org/page...tions.html Lost had to cancel, so far it's just me and Slappy. Remember this is sailing for FREE! Anyone else? => |
