I definately need a ride, but i'd love to go! I've never been to a zoo... PERIOD! So i'd love to g-

Wait... I have been at a zoo before. X3 Thanks repressed memories!

Okay, but I still wanna go. 20 bucks seems easy enough to get so I can probably pay the day of. It seems like an 80/20 chance.

Getting lost is what I do best :3

RE: Philadelphia Zoo Trip-- RSVP!
anyone think they can give me a ride there? im sorta on the way you have to take the blue rout (I-476) about 8 to 10 miles from I-95 to Springfield and can meet you somewhere in town

Whats that? thats the sound of your life falling into a a mindless routine.... how can you stop it? by doing something random

You can probably take me off the list (don't know yet). If I don't run into trouble on Saturday, July 31, I will be visiting the zoo the same day as Furbowl. However, good effurt fur organizing the trip!

Yo whaddup.

Haha, sorry, forgot to get back on this.

Um, the only thing left to do, really, is arrange carpooling for those that need rides. We're paying at the door, if you guys didn't already figure that out. =]

RE: Philadelphia Zoo Trip-- RSVP!
you can count me in! just lemme know where the meet up is, and i'll be there! I've got a minivan, so i could probably take 6.

whoot!!!!

as for payment - i'm a bit late to be sending in paypal, so i can pay at the door. I live in Fair Hill Maryland incase anyone needs a ride. I'll be taking the minivan up no matter what. I'd have no problem bringing people back - the more the merrier!! But yeah - if i'm missing anything, pleeeease catch me up to speed. IM me, email me, ninja mail me.

<---- is taking his first steps to making new friends in.... gaaah like over a year DX lol oh well

(05-02-2010 10:19 PM)SlapHappy Wrote:  Out-of-state trips take a while to plan, so I figured I'd start early. =]

Here was the previous thread on the trip: http://thefurststate.com/forums/thread-1199.html

And here are the specifics!

What: A trip to the Philadelphia Zoo, America's first zoo!
Where: 3400 W Girard Ave
Philadelphia, PA 19104
When: Sunday, August 15th from 10AM to whenever we leave (zoo closes at 5)
Note: I'll also have a rain date planned if the tickets are restricted by date.

Tickets are $18 per person. If we get at least 15 people to pay in advance we qualify for the group rate of $13.

Parking is $12 per car in the zoo lot, which is pretty much the only place to park. Carpooling is highly recommended.

The plan:
We meet up somewhere at 8:30 in the morning to arrange carpooling and pack up our vehicles if we're bringing lunch or whatever. At around 9:00 we'll head out to the zoo to make sure we get good parking. The zoo opens at 9:30 so I figured it's best to get there as early as possible.

Once we're there we can pretty much do whatever! No need to stay in a group. Here's a list of ticket costs for some of the zoo's rides: http://www.philadelphiazoo.org/zoo/Visit...keting.htm

Also, the zoo currently has an exhibit called Creatures of Habitat, which hosts endangered animals sculpted from LEGO bricks: http://www.philadelphiazoo.org/creatures/

For lunch we could either pack and re-group at one of the picnic pavillions or we could buy food at the zoo. My family's always done the former, as the zoo food isn't particularly cheap.

We'll leave whenever we leave, pretty much. Zoo closes at 5PM.

Who's interested in going? Remember, this is only a tentative RSVP, don't worry about permanent commitment. However, if we go for the group rate all the tickets must be ordered together at least two weeks before we go.

Let me know if you have any questions! I probably forgot something. XP

Of course it is! And you're more than welcome to come! =D

But you know, that second point is a good question. All us DE types are leaving together, more or less. I guess I could give you my cell # and shoot you a text or whatever when we get there, and you could meet us at the gate. If we leave on time, we should be at the zoo around 9:50-10:00 =]

I'd like to RSVP for myself and Ardent Softheart

Not absolutely sure we can go yet, it's highly likely we will be going though, since we'd definitely love to go on this trip!
